Dear Members of the Blood-Brain Barrier Family,
We have successfully organized the “14th Symposium on Signal Transduction in the Blood-Brain Barriers” between September 7 – 9, 2011 in Istanbul. A total of 120 participants attended the Symposium and 40 lectures and 33 poster presentations were carried out during the meeting.
The “Welcome Cocktail” of the meeting was held at the historical main campus of our University in a beautiful Istanbul night. The “Gala Dinner” was held at a historical venue of our University at the very coast of the Bosphorus, the most beautiful location of Istanbul.
We would like to thank the speakers, presenting authors of the posters and all the participants for their invaluable scientific contributions. We are very proud of having organized the meeting in Turkey and we have enjoyed it very much to host all the researchers almost all of whom were from foreign countries. We have been enjoying receiving positive feedback messages from many participants. We are also grateful to all the members of the International and Local Organizing Committees, the jury members who evaluated the presentations of the applicants for 5 travel grants and all the Chairs of the sessions. We would like to thank also our assistants and students who took part in the organization of the meeting and our sponsors who provided us with invaluable support.
In addition, we have also been enjoying the international prestige that the Symposium brought to our country and we are receiving proposals of collaborative projects and research which makes us feel even more proud and happy.
As a reminder of good memories, you may find the photographs taken during the meeting through the link below.
We wish you all good health, success and happiness not only in your research but also in all your life.
Best regards,
Prof. Dr. Mehmet KAYA
